SHAKER MAKING Weekend with Dr. Adhi Two Owls
Shakers are a unique instrument. They use sound, movement and the tactile textures of the materials they are made from to inspire and awaken to transformation.
In this retreat participants will embark on a creative journey to make a shaker from natural and recycled materials. Each one will have a unique sound that is birthed from the the inspiration each person brings to their journey that weekend.
Shakers are a form of rattle that can be used for healing, sacred sound work, shamanic practice, music making, meditation and more…
Participants will learn the history of this instrument, how it has been traditionally used and explore their own relationship to the sounds it offers for their personal journey.

SCHEDULE:
Saturday: 11am-6pm
Introductions, learning about the shaker and it’s uses, explaining materials and tools, making prayer braids…
We will then take a labyrinth walk, followed by journey/meditation to connect to the spirit of your shaker. After that, we begin the process of making the shaker. This will encompass drilling holes in shells, wood, bone, etc… processing bottle caps, beading , braiding, listening and more…
Sunday: 10am-1pm
We will start with a meditation and journey to connect to the spirit of our shaker for any last minute insights and we will finish making our shakers. The day finishes with a ceremony to awaken our shakers and birth them into the community.

Water Bottle
Lunch on Saturday and any other snacks/drinks you would like to bring for the weekend
Wear comfortable clothing and warm socks. Bring additional layers for your comfort.
