Dr. ADHI TWO OWLS
Multidisciplinary artist and educator Dr. Adhi Two Owls presents ElementalExplorations: Envisioning the Universe, a solo exhibition of nature-inspired geometric paintings and drawings that invites viewers into the work itself and the process behind it. Fascinated by the ways the natural world organizes itself through waves, fractals, cellular structures, and hexagonal honeycombs, Two Owls draws on these patterns to create the intricate forms and imagery that define her work. Two Owls frequently teaches classes and workshops out of her Littleton, NH studio.
“As an educator teaching drawing, painting, and art history, I try to show students that art isn't separate from other ways of understanding the world. It's a method of inquiry—one that helps us notice, reflect, and and locate ourselves within the complexity around us.”
Balancing research and intuition with form and function, Two Owls’ work communicates how creativity is a method of interpreting and understanding the world around us. As both an artist and an educator, her work embodies how research and observation inform the act of creation in a fundamental cycle.
“My process involves building a complex, almost petroglyphic surface composed of lines, marks, symbols, and shapes that echo the rhythms of both organic and organized forms,” says Two Owls, who views her creative practice as a force for healing, growth, and cultural renewal
