Elemental Explorations
Elemental Explorations is a continuation of the themes first developed in the series In Every Drop of Water There is a Universe. While that earlier body of work reflected on water as a matrix for life, this series expands the inquiry to the root elements that shape and sustain existence. Fire, earth, air, and water are considered not only as physical forces but also as symbolic foundations of growth, transformation, and balance.
Each piece takes the form of a circle, echoing the natural geometry of cycles, wholeness, and continuity. The round format, created on hand-made paper, serves as a meditative field in which organic and structured forms converge. Through the use of inks, colored pencils, gel pens, and watercolor, layered patterns emerge that suggest both mystical resonance and the intricate microcosmic systems of the physical world.
Measuring 16 by 16 inches, these works invite viewers into contemplative engagement. The abstract yet intentional compositions are designed to spark visualization, reflection, and a sense of connection to the elemental forces that permeate daily life. In this way, the series extends its role beyond aesthetic expression to become a quiet meditation on the universal structures that give rise to life itself.
